El informe final de la investigación sobre el incendio en la Torre Grenfell concluye que una cadena de errores de las administraciones públicas y del sector privado posibilitó que el fuego en el edificio se convertirse en una trampa mortal. El incendio acabó con la vida de 72 personas en 2017, y el revestimiento de la fachada se consideró la causa principal de la rápida propagación de las llamas. Informa para la BBC Dominic Casciani

A major building project has completely refurbished one part of the campus and linked our two main buildings, Burlington House and 6, Burlington Gardens, through a scheme architected by David Chipperfield RA. The build manager supports the delivery of the Academy’s exhibitions programme and manages to build projects within our buildings. This entails managing exhibition contractors and builds within our galleries, advising on and facilitating large sculpture installations by modern and contemporary artists, and carrying out small building works within our Grade II* listed buildings. Reporting to the head of surveying, and working closely with the exhibition managers, the build manager will project manage all aspects of gallery builds and strikes: from design processes, through tender and contract awards to build programmes and sign-off of finished work. The role will act as the Academy’s initial operational point of contact for exhibition build contractors. In addition, the build manager will project manage small building and fit out projects on behalf of the Estates department, and as directed by the Head of Surveying, carry out administrative surveying tasks in support of the maintenance of the Royal Academy’s listed buildings. This role starts initially on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
